Campaign for UC Santa Barbara

Eloise DillingThis is the first comprehensive campaign to raise private funds to ensure UCSB’s excellence for future generations. This function was the first function for the Campaign for UC Santa Barbara.  The original goal was to raise $350 million in private gifts and pledges, and more than half that amount was received in the “quiet phase” of the campaign—thanks to our dedicated volunteer leaders and our generous supporters, who have demonstrated their commitment to our campus by investing in its future. Fund raising has been so successful the Campaign Steering Committee decided to increase the goal to $500 million.

The public phase of the campaign began on October 2, 2004, with a celebratory kickoff event on campus that featured a video message from Michael Douglas, the Academy Award winner and UCSB alumnus, who serves as Honorary Chair of the campaign. Other campaign-related events have been held in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, New York, and Washington, D.C. Our alumni, our friends in the community, faculty and staff members, our students and their parents are all playing an important role in this endeavor, and we greatly appreciate their steadfast support. These web pages offer information about the campaign and its volunteer leaders, a message from Chancellor Henry Yang, and information on some of the many leadership gifts that have been received, among other things. You’ll also find links to the Development Office with more information about fund raising on behalf of UC Santa Barbara.
